Yes yes yes it's real! A TEDx in our hometown Salalah! 

I was dawdling in twitter once a day and I found an account called TEDxSalalah... For me it was a big shock as I never thought that salalah can be a part of this popular event that should be driven and initiate by the locals... So finally people here moved and the youth start to work positively and do something instead of waiting for the "mama" to do it ( you know who is the mama right?) 

So when I started follow them on twitter the account was so hyper and they were so eager to have TEDx. However, after they've announced the time and some details (and i was about to write a post about it) they delayed it till unknown date. And again they started to tweet and announced new time.. Again they apologized to unknown reason and delay the event. What was the issue? I have spoke to them privately (DM) and inquiry about the issue, as per who replied to me they didn't found any financial support

What a shame Salalah! Seriously some silly activities going on with a big budget and when it comes to learning and knowledge share you don't support them ... I've did a small event in muscat years back and the financial support was an easy thing! In muscat I always saw lots of initiatives with omantel, bank muscat, bank dhofar sponsors and just recently there was a fashion event and booooy they got lots of sponsors... 

Wonder why they didn't support such a good event, an event that really help people and youth?! 

Any way finally they are doing it and it will be in 24th August with "I'm the idea" motto.... Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend coz I will be in muscat bbbbbbut if you are in salalah you can register and attend for free, just go to www.tedxsalalah.com

Seven die as Pakistani boat catches fire near Salalah port

"KARACHI: Seven people, including the captain, were killed when a Pakistani cargo boat was destroyed after it caught fire near Oman’s Salalah port, Geo News reported on Friday. A crew member, Nasir told Geo News that the launch was heading towards Somalia from Sharjah when the fire suddenly erupted on near Salah port. Seven people including the captain, Fateh Muhammad, lost their lives in the incident. Nine people, who were also on board, survived. He denied that the boat might have developed any fault and added that they received help from the crew of an Indian boat."

The ship contained chemicals as some news agency reported, The press in Oman still didn't broadcast the news i don't know why!! but as Hilarious said the nature of the chemicals are still unknown....

غرق سفينة شحن باكستانية ومقتل 7 من طاقمها???

"قتل ما لا يقل عن سبعة اشخاص نتيجة انفجار مواد كيماوية كانت تقلها سفينة شحن باكستانية متوسطة الحجم ما ادى الى غرقها في مياه البحر العربي.

وذكرت صحيفة /ايكسبريس/ الباكستانية الصادرة صباح اليوم أن السفينة /شهريار/ كانت تعمل لنقل البضائع بين موانئ المنطقة، حيث حملت شحنة من المواد الكيماوية في رحلتها الأخيرة، ولكنها تعرضت لحادث إثر انفجار المواد الكيماوية التي كانت تقلها ما أدى إلى اشتعال النيران فيها.
وأضافت أنها غرقت بالقرب من ميناء صلالة العماني وقتل سبعة من أفراد طاقهما بينهم قائدها، بينما تم إنقاذ بقية أفراد الطاقم البالغ عددهم 9 أشخاص جميعهم من الجنسية الباكستانية."

عامر الاجواء رائعة هنا والسياح بدأوا بالتوافد على المنطقة هنا في قمة جبل أتين (معلومة الاستديو لا يوجد على القمة) ونرى الجموع حول الاستديو والكاميرا الآن تنقل الصورة حية لأشخاص....

برنامج حلو صح؟؟؟؟ شفتوا شي من الخريف غير خارج الاستديو؟؟؟ ولا الفقرة الاسبوعية المباشرة لليوم المفتوح الذي اعتبره عامر انجاااااااااااااااز تحقق بعد 40 عاما لمسيرة النهضة ان يتم عرض مبااااااشرة اليوم المفتوح للولايات...

انجاااااااااااااااااااااااااااز عرض مباشر في آن واحد مع البرنامج.. من داخل الاستديو وخارجه في نفس الوقت!!! لا مو معقولة!!!

عالعموم هذا ليس نقدا للبرنامج انما اشارة الى ان البرنامج لا يسمن السياحة ولا يغنيها من جوع..... وان كان قبل عدة سنوات يفي بالغرض فالآن هو مجرد فرضا لازما على تلفزيون عمان  لا شيء اخر ولا زال المعد يتمسك بنفس الفقرات وبدون أي تجديد ولا حتى تغيير لأشكال المذيعين فعامر من بدء البرنامج "هو هو" أما الفتاة (الحرمة) فهي  التي تتغير ويتم دفع وجوه شبابية جديدة ليست لها الكفاءة بعد وان كنت من مشجعي الوجوه الشبابية ولكن ينبغي ان نضع الكفاءة في عين الاعتبار.....

أتمنى أن يتم اشراك الشباب (الجديرين بذلك) في اعداد هذا البرنامج وان يتم التنفيذ فيما بعد بجودة عالية وجدية... تعبنا من الركاكة وتعبنا من جمود الافكار....

نأمل في السنة القادمة أن يعرض البرنامج بصورة افضل ويخدم السياحة (الخريفية)... هكذا.....

vacation

I'm enjoying my vacation abroad the country along with my family...

i barely have an internet access so i don't know what is going on in the "bloggin" sphere...

Tomorrow we'll travel to another country and that will take a whole daym *dizzy*

part from that,  my relatives said the weather in salalah is improving and the 'khareef' (i.e. monsoon) is much better then last year... so after returning to home i will go inshaAllah to salalah and spend Ramadhan there...

We're already preparing for a big wedding after Ramadhan, which will consume most of the family's budget... The wedding will be huge, i guess, and the 'show-off'' competition already start... women will spend hundreds to look the best among the other guests... and as a single my mother will do her best too to attract ppl's eyes to me >>> poor me :(.. i don't know why they don't understand that i don't want to marry now *sad*

Anyway i might post something abt my trip later, till then have a nice summer or kharref or whatever :p...
