I've receive an invitation to TEDx Muscat and yeah i went.... the whole experience was fascinating
Our journey to Al Musunha (mu9n3ah) where the event conducted started at 7:30, my friends picked me up and we went as a bunch of group in 2 cars (The most exciting thing is the grouping point was at my house)
We reached there at 9:00 a.m., in fact we were too slow, and as we enter the lobby of the millennium hotel we were stunned by the number of people who already arrived and we found some old friends from university....
Then we registered and took our batches and headed to eat breakfast which was quite good... i only drank cup of tea in fact...
Then the event started with an introduction about TED organization and TEDx events and the host of the program was a known Omani actor (surprisingly)who tried to be funny but unfortunately he failed (at least from my point of view)
HH. Faisl bin Turkey Al Said spoke for 5 mins (He sponsored the event)....
The event was scheduled as the following: two speakers, a video from previous TED event and then a coffe break and at the middle they offered a lunch...
The first talker was Jim Stolze and his topic title was "Digital Stress or Virtual Happiness"
The other talker is a story teller called Firas Abouzeid, i loved his talk and i enjoyed it so much .He spoke about "Doodles Vs Digital Point". He mentioned good points about purposes and how to define yours but what i mostly liked is this quote form his speech: "Know yourself..Define your purpose.. Be Authentic.. Be spiritual.. Are u ready for the change?? Protect the Doodle""
ok.... this post is getting too long and if i write about each speaker you will get bored... so shourtcut the things, i will be brief as much as possible...
The surprised thing in the whole event (as Dhofari girl) that among the speakers there was a dhofari girl called Tuffol Al-Dhahab... hooray for us looooooooool....
I'm so proud of her though her presentation was quite boring *duh*. She spoke about the "Impact of online social media: changes and developments" and she mentioned AlSabla as an example, which some of the audience disliked it i don't know why... talking a little bit about Tufool, i will quote her biography from the brochure spread at the event:
"Tufool Al Dhahab is currently working as a Marketing Team Leader at Information Technology Authority (ITA) in the Sultanate of Oman. Tufool works with her team to develop innovative marketing campaigns to serve the ultimate purpose of the e.oman mission. Tufool Al Dhahab was selected as a Young Women Leader through LAU and MEPI."
Keep it up Tuffol, you are amazing and your language is excellent... as per as i know she lived in USA for a long time as her father was the ambassador there...

It's hilarious loooooooooooooooooooooooool and it was the bessssssssssst ever.....
Another Omani lady was a speaker at the event too... i lovvvvvvved her language, presentation, work she done so far... I'm really really really proud of her.... her name is Eman Rafay, her biography is:
"Eman graduated from the University of York with a BA Hons in Social Policy, from the school of Social and Political Science. Her passion to give back to society resonated within her from a young age and is highlighted by her work for international charities such as Oxfam. A noted addition to her experience is her work for a London based think tank; The Centre for Social Justice. Eman believes in the responsibility of citizens to actively contribute to the welfare of society. She is also an advocate that the youth of Oman and women alike possesses a unique potential a vital resource to the ongoing prosperity of our country and economy, through the provision of community based vocational educational activities. She is founder of the first youth incited national campaign 2010 OMANI WOMEN and community initiative capacity building initiative IQRA."
her presentation was about: "Defying moments... experiencing empowerment" which was fantastic... she told a story about Ana which now her signature is on every american dollar... Eman believes in Omani women and she's trying to help women by conducting different workshops to develop their skills and spread awareness between ladies from poor and uneducated families... she has very strong message and her mission won't be easy...
Go Eman we are all behind you girl.....
In between the presentations and @ the coffee breaks, i found the chances to talk to the speakers in personal and discuss their views and that was the best in TEDx... Even if you don't get involved in the discussions, people will definitely come to you and open a topic and discuss the presented ideas. The whole networking things at the breaks was great and added something to TEDx Muscat....
At the end, the experience was very good, hope the coming events will be more organized specially the registration part...
